What’s so good about grafted veg plants?

Grafting onto specific rootstocks, of course, creates bigger, better, more disease-resistant plants with increased yield. Consequently, we believe, the extra vigour which the plant obtains will provide even better protection to late Blight attack, and the plants will grow away from any infection even more rapidly.

Grow in the greenhouse or outdoors, little or no heating required. With excellent resistance to soil-borne pest and diseases - No more ring culture or grow bags you simply plant straight in the soil.

Caring for your Grafted Aviditas

There is a possibility that your plant will include a grafting clip if it does, this is an integral part of the grafting process and that it should be left in place. As the plant grows it will naturally shrug off the clip. They require daily watering and feeding. The Aviditas is a cordon variety - one stem grown by pinching off side-shoots as they appear needs staking and tying in and will require side shoots 'pinching out'.

Growing Information

If growing inside, use a deep pot no smaller than 40cm (16") diameter. Alternatively, they can be planted directly into the greenhouse soil. Please note that most grow bags do not provide enough root space for grafted plants. If growing outside plant 60cm (2') apart or in large pots. provide support as they grow. vigorous growth can be expected, take care to prevent plants drying out with regular moderate watering. once fruit begins to form apply a quality vegetable feed regularly following the recommended instructions. pick and enjoy.
