Which vegetable seeds are quickest to crop?

Our leaf salad 'French Mix' is super-quick and is ready in just three weeks. Rocket can be harvested four to six weeks from sowing, and radish is ready in five to eight weeks. Plant successive crops to give a longer harvest period.

Which vegetables tolerate drought?

The Mediterranean herbs are most drought tolerant and include marjoram and basil. They’re all perennials that will crop for many years. Root veg are also able to cope with dryer weather as their roots dig deeper down than plants such as onions, which have weaker, shallow roots.

Which vegetables crop for more than one season?

Leafy greens can provide crops for extended periods, especially in sheltered and sunny spots. Many herb plants also give crops across seasons.
