Which vegetables grow best in containers?

Tomatoes, chillies and peppers are ideal for container growing, and mint is best contained in a pot as it will spread to cover a border, given half a chance! You can also find bean varieties that are perfect for containers, including Broan Bean 'Robin Hood'.

Which vegetables can you grow together?

Radish are a good quick crop to grow alongside something that takes longer to mature, such as swede or parsnip. Carrots can be grown with onions as the smell of the onion helps to deter carrot fly. Pumpkins or squash happily grow in the same bed as climbing beans or sweetcorn plants.

Which vegetables are perennial?

Globe and Jerusalem artichokes are perennial, as are many herbs such as mint and chives. Asparagus is also a popular perennial veg.
