Starting rate of pay: £19,000 per annum with a 6 month probationary period.

The Role

We currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join the Purchasing team as an administrator. The successful applicant will be an integral member of the team providing administrative & system support.

The role will be primarily for Product set up and general office administration.

You will need to be numerate, with good communication and keyboard skills including the use of Excel and Word. You will be given training on the use of our internal IT system.

IT Support Administrator

Salary Range £18,000 - £20,000 dependant on experience

Overview

For over 200 years Suttons has been at the forefront of supplying quality products to gardeners throughout the UK. The company is now looking to employ an ambitious individual to work closely with the IT and Systems support departments.

The successful applicant will report to the IT Lead and will be involved with all aspects of IT, from set up of networks, machine installations & telephone systems amongst other exciting challenges.

The work is generated through a ticket system and placed in order of priority. You will be expected to work closely with the IT Lead and at times to complete work tasks alone; priding yourself on exceptional delivery.

Working within a growing business you will need to be a great communicator and be able to translate IT to those who are non-technical easily and efficiently thus developing strong relationships.

The essential requirements of the role include:

  • Set up and installation of PCs
  • Excellent customer facing skills
  • Knowledge of windows 10
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory and 0365
  • Able to Log tickets and assist with Helpdesk Tasks
  • 1st line support experience

Despatch Manager

Salary based on experience.

Overview

For over 200 years Suttons has been at the forefront of supplying quality products to gardeners throughout the UK, now part of the fastest growing horticulture company in the UK . The company is now looking to employ an ambitious individual to run a fast paced and high volume dispatch operation at the Nursery site in Paignton.

The successful applicant will have overall responsibility for despatch KPIs, budget and planning for all areas of Despatch operations for the Occombe site including:

  • Staff planning and recruitment alongside the HR department
  • Picking & printing
  • Stock management
  • Packing & despatch

The role will report into the Operations Director and will be a liaison to keep them up to date with operational matters.

Tasks will involve running the despatching of orders for the nursery site, managing staff numbers and implementing shifts where necessary.

Receive live products, quality check and place in designated areas to ensure they are best placed for order picking. Develop strong relationships with courier/collection/delivery agents.

Health and Safety is a key factor at the nursery site and it will be imperative that all employees are trained and carry out all procedures in a safe and efficient way.

Desirable Skills:

  • Horticultural knowledge.
  • Proven people management.
  • Operational/Dispatch experience.
  • Driving licence.

Lead Photographer

Salary based on experience.

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a lead photographer to join our in house design team.

Suttons is a highly recognised consumer brand which has been in existence for over 200 years, making it one of the most established and respected companies in the UK.

Suttons are a major player in the Seed and Garden Sundries market, enjoying excellent distribution amongst Garden Centres and Key DIY/Hardware outlets.

Primarily focusing on product images for live plants and garden equipment, the ideal candidate will have at least three years studio experience and have experience in editing images and setting up a photographic studio environment. They must also have experience of shooting on location for many of our live plant products.

Experience within this product category would be a distinct advantage, however enthusiasm, ideas, organisation, good communication skills and a positive attitude are all desirable attributes. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, happy to work independently on projects and delivering results on schedule.

A keen interest in gardening and plants in particular would also be an advantage.

Essential Skills

Digital photography, excellent Photoshop retouching and colour matching skills. Excellent all-round computer skills, that includes good working knowledge of capture one software, photoshop (Mac), Capture Pro or equivalent.

You will be required to have a strong photography portfolio that demonstrates sufficient knowledge and techniques of digital photography and lighting.

Other Desirable skills:

Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, video editing software, after Effects, good knowledge of working across all areas of the studio, able to prepare sets, checking that all equipment is fully functional and management of image libraries.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Creating high quality and consistently beautiful product images, and ensuring they are correctly exposed and colour consistent for use within multiple channels across the business.
  • Re-touching, resizing, re-colouring and maintaining image banks and distributing assets.
  • Working with Retail team to constant review and improve existing images.
  • Able to follow briefs and deliver on expectations.
  • Open to feedback for improvement.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Management of all Image Libraries.
  • Looking after the studio set up and ensuring that all equipment is fully functional and cared for appropriately.
  • Practical DIY / problem solving skills and a hands on approach create sets, assemble products and maximise picture quality.
  • Occasional travel will be required so a valid UK driving license would be preferred.
  • Assisting with basic graphic design duties if required.
