Both adults and larvae consume huge numbers of aphids (greenfly & blackfly), and adults lay 20-50 eggs a day, building a huge population.
Release ladybirds into your garden and greenhouse to tackle pest problems i.e. aphids on roses, or simply to boost the numbers of these native beneficial insects in your garden. Each ladybird will eat about 5000 aphids and will soon produce ladybird larvae which in turn also eat aphids.
We supply native British Adult Ladybirds (Adalia bipunctata ) in packs of 25 with food included by 1st class post, ready for release in your garden. They should be released directly onto aphid infected plants or dotted around the garden either early in the morning or late evening. PLEASE NOTE: Ladybirds are normally despatched between May and August.
Aphids attacking trees can be a BIG problem (the 1st visible symptom of attack is large amounts of sticky honeydew which drips down on to your car, your garden furniture or your patio) - control aphids naturally by introducing native British Ladybird Larvae with release bags into the trees. Each 100 larvae is supplied with a release bag i.e. order 500 larvae and you will receive 5 x release bags. Ladybird larvae eat over 100 aphids a day each, so by introducing ladybird larvae into trees/ hedges aphids can be controlled naturally. Being mobile, the larvae will quickly spread out into the canopy to search out and devour aphids & introducing the larvae is easy with our cotton release bags.
Adults are best for greenhouse control, larvae for indoor and outdoor control. To ensure that they survive, please only order at the first signs of an aphid problem! For maximum efficiency, ensure no ants are present. Apply May-August. Pack of 25 Adults (to treat 5m²). Pack contains living organism and should be kept refrigerated on arrival, and used before the expiry date, approximately 3 to 4 weeks from date of despatch.
