Cordon/Indeterminate Introducing Tomato Appleberry Luscious Orange, the latest sensation in tomatoes with no mess and no mush! Part of the Appleberry series, these apple-shaped fruits come in a striking trio of complementary colours: bright red, warm orange, and sunny yellow, making a visual and culinary delight. With a firm texture, they avoid the usual mush and juice splatter, making them perfect for snacking, salads, or adding to sandwiches without sogginess. Each truss can grow up to a metre long, bearing as many as 30 sweet, 20-25g fruits. With a Brix rating of 8%, they offer a consistently sweet and fruity flavour. Height: 180cm (71in). Spread: 40cm (16in). Companion planting: Pair your tomatoes with French marigolds to keep whitefly at bay, and try herbs like basil, chives, or mint to deter aphids and other pests. Growing Information

Pot up and grow tomato plants on in warm frost free conditions.

Outdoor cultivation: Grow on until large enough to plant outdoors. Wait until all risk of frost has passed before transplanting tomatoes - around early June depending upon location. Gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Choose a sheltered position in full sun on fertile, reliably moist, well drained soil. Alternatively grow tomatoes in patio bags and containers in good quality compost such as John Innes No. 2.

Greenhouse cultivation: When growing in a heated glasshouse tomato plants may be transplanted at the end of May or when the first flowers are showing, if earlier. Allow 3 plants per growbag, or one per 25cm (10") pot, or plant tomatoes directly into the greenhouse soil. Cordon types should be transplanted at a distance of 60cm (24") apart.

Cordon/indeterminate varieties:  Drive a (5ft) cane into the soil adjacent to each plant to support them as they grow, and tie each main stem to its support with soft garden twine.

Bush/determinate varieties: These may require a smaller cane to support the weight of the plant and its fruit. Dwarf bush varieties, such as 'Basket' types, do not require any staking.

Live Plants

Suttons strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Non Standard Deliveries

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.

Prices include VAT where applicable.

We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.

We reserve the right to revise any carriage charges in the event of carrier price increase or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always advise of the carriage charge before payment is taken.

Large Non-standard items may incur a higher, lorry delivery charge. Charges will be calculated at checkout, but an example of the lorry charges are listed below.

  • Red - £9.99.
  • Purple - £2.99.
