From July, Hydrangea paniculata 'Magical Vesuvio' boasts large, showy panicles of white flowers carried on a strong framework of dark red-brown stems. As summer progresses, the blooms transition to pink, the colour change commencing from the base to give the panicles a lovely two-toned appearance. Eventually the flowers mature to a rich dark pink all over, injecting a splash of valuable colour during late summer and autumn. Hydrangea paniculata 'Magical Vesuvio' offers a long season of interest and is a cinch to maintain - simply prune it back to a low framework every Spring. More drought tolerant than mophead hydrangeas (Hydrangea macrophylla), Hydrangea paniculata 'Magical Vesuvio' makes an exemplary choice for drier, woodland-type borders and for large pots or planters in shady areas around the house. Height and Spread: 1.5m (4.9ft).

Growing Information

Hydrangea paniculata prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any non alkaline, fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply.

Suttons strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.
