An invaluable fragrant evergreen shrub, Choisya ternata 'Scented Gem' is a compact variety, distinguished by its slender leaflets and pink flushed buds.

From spring to early summer, pink buds open to highly fragrant white flowers, attracting bees and butterflies. The clusters of sweetly scented flowers will often have a second flush in autumn providing additional interest late in the season and a late source of pollen for beneficial insects. Glossy, dark green foliage is composed of up to 7, slender, tapered leaflets creating a finely textured but bushy shrub. Choisya ternata ‘Scented Gem’ is a robust and versatile shrub, resistant to wind, pollution and coastal spray. It is perfect for planting close to the house where its scent can be enjoyed, such as front garden borders. Thriving even in partial shade, it rewards with year-round interest whilst demanding minimal maintenance. Height and Spread: 1.5–2.5 m (4.9-8.2ft).

Growing Information

Plant Mexican Orange Blossom in any well drained soil in full sun, with shelter from strong winds. Partial shade is tolerated but foliage will be less golden in this situation. Alternatively grow Choisya in patio containers filled with loam-based compost such as John Innes No.3.

Suttons strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Non Standard Deliveries

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.

We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.
