Viola Plants - Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow

Fill your garden with stunning colour changing violas!

Viola Plants - Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow is a totally unique variety that produces a lot of flowers over a long length of time. The flowers change colour day by day hence the name. Yesterday they were almost white, today they are light blue and tomorrow they will be deep blue, and as they open on different days, it always appears as though there are multiple varieties planted together, giving a lovely effect in flower beds, flower border and patio containers for many months over winter with a continually changing and eye-catching display with all the different shades complementing each other wonderfully. Flowers March-August. Height 11-20cm (4-8"); spread 20-30cm (8-12").

Garden Ready Plug Plants

Always ensure that the risk of frost has passed before you plant these into the garden. Should there still be a risk in your area then we suggest that you pot these plants into a 7 to 9cm pot and allow them to develop further somewhere warm and light, before planting, rather than leave them in the growing tray. For planting directly into the garden, ensure that the soil has been dug over and lumps broken down, then plant straight into their flowering position. In areas where the existing soil is poor, incorporate a good handful of compost into each area you are planting. Once planted don’t forget to give your plants a drink and protect them from any slugs and snails that may appear.

Potted Plants

On delivery of your plants you need to do this straight away: Carefully unpack your plants and check that the compost is moist. If it’s dry, water carefully using a small watering can and allow it to drain. Stand in a light, warm place and then follow the ‘growing on’ instructions. Provided they are kept moist, they can usually be left for up to 3 days. Your plants have been grown under ideal conditions and inspected by one of our experts prior to careful packaging and despatch by post. However, should they have been damaged or delayed during delivery, please contact us immediately.

Remember to ensure all summer bedding plants are protected from spring frosts. Do not plant outdoors before late May/early June.

For the best results, pot these on and keep them in the greenhouse for a few weeks before planting them out. A 7cm pot filled loosely with moist compost is ideal to plant these sturdy young plants into. In each pack of extra value plug plants, you will find a dibber stick. If you intend to plant plug plants through the side of hanging baskets you can use a smaller pot than 7cm and transfer into baskets when well established.

To remove your plugs, gently push up through the base hole of each cell and ease the plant and root plug out of the tray. Place it into the centre of the filled pot, so that the roots of the plug are covered. Firm the compost gently around the base of the plug whilst ensuring the stem and leaves remain above the top layer.

Live Plants

Suttons strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Non Standard Deliveries

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.

Prices include VAT where applicable.

We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.

We reserve the right to revise any carriage charges in the event of carrier price increase or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always advise of the carriage charge before payment is taken.

Large Non-standard items may incur a higher, lorry delivery charge. Charges will be calculated at checkout, but an example of the lorry charges are listed below.

  • Red - £9.99.
  • Purple - £2.99.
