Whether you’re a full-time gardener or beginner, this handy kit includes a base tray, lid and pre spawned substrate and easy to follow instructions.
Simply keep them moist and out of direct sunlight and your first crop should be ready to pick in a matter of weeks, plus you can expect at least another 2 pickings after that (See full instructions in Growing Info below).
These kits need to be started on receipt and are unsuitable for storage.
Dimensions:
3 Litre = 17.5cm (7") x 27.5cm (11") x 8cm (3½") depth.
7.5 Litre = 32cm x 26cm x 12.5cm
Growing Instructions:
This kit is designed for indoor growing. Choose a clean area away from direct heat sources and draughts. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent overheating. Mushrooms prefer indirect, filtered light.
Please note: When opening the packaging, check if the substrate has grown completely white. If not, close the packaging with the plastic lid and store for 10 to 14 days at 20-25°C (68-77°F). Make sure that you leave the plastic bag around the substrate.
Step 1. Prepare the substrate
• Make five incisions, each 2-3cm long, in the plastic around the substrate.
• Water the surface with ¼ litre of water so it is moist.
• Leave the kit with the lid on at 20-25°C (68-77°F).
• After around 2 weeks, white pins will appear.
Step 2. Create the right environment
• Once pins appear, move the kit to a bright location at 10-15°C (50-59°F).
• Avoid direct sunlight to prevent overheating. Mushrooms prefer indirect, filtered light
• Lightly spray at least once a day. The surface must never dry out but should not become waterlogged.
• From the pins, small stems with grey dots will develop into mushrooms.
Step 3. Harvest
• Harvest clusters by twisting them out of the substrate, ensuring no flesh remains behind.
• Total harvesting time can last up to 3 months.
• Before eating, trim the mushroom to 1cm below the gills.
• The firmer stems are ideal for sauces or soups.
Please note: You may achieve up to 3 harvests. Before each new harvest, make 5 fresh incisions in the plastic.

Live Plants
Suttons strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
Non Standard Deliveries
Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.
Prices include VAT where applicable.
We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.
We reserve the right to revise any carriage charges in the event of carrier price increase or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always advise of the carriage charge before payment is taken.
Large Non-standard items may incur a higher, lorry delivery charge. Charges will be calculated at checkout, but an example of the lorry charges are listed below.
For more information please visit our delivery charges information page by clicking here.
All Suttons products should reach you in perfect condition, just as they left us. If you are dissatisfied in any way with their condition on arrival, please let us know within 14 days.
