Baptisia 'Decadence Blueberry Sundae' is a striking hybrid in the Baptisia australis family, offering an exciting range of vibrant colours, extended bloom time, and a compact form ideal for smaller gardens. This variety forms neat, bushy clumps of blue-green foliage, topped with tall spires of indigo-blue flowers, reminiscent of lupines, reaching up to 25cm in length. Beginning in May, the blooms gradually unfurl from the base of the spike, building to a peak of colour by late summer. After flowering, the plant produces unique black seed pods, extending its visual appeal well into the autumn months.This versatile perennial makes a great addition to informal, cottage-style borders or prairie plantings, and its flowers are especially attractive to pollinators like bees, making it an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens. Baptisia 'Decadence Blueberry Sundae' thrives in well-drained, poor soils and is drought-tolerant once established, making it both low-maintenance and resilient.Height: 90cm (35in) Spread: 75cm (30in)

Growing Information

Pot up Baptisias and grow them on until large enough to plant outdoors. When they well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Grow in light, acid to neutral, well drained soil in full sun. Water regularly until established.

In autumn, cut down down to the ground. New foliage will emerge in spring. Apply a mulch around the plant in spring every couple of years.

While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland.
