Crops 12 weeks from sowing. Plant 60cm apart. For maximum production of courgettes it is essential that all fruits of a culinary size are removed three times a week whether required or not. Remember the flowers are edible. Sow late March/mid May, either in 7cm pots indoors for early sowings, at 19-21°C (65-70°F) or direct outdoors for later crops. Harvest July-September. An early or Autumn crop can be grown in an unheated greenhouse or polytunnel.
HEALTH BENEFITS: High in vitamins A, C and E. CULINARY TIPS: Do not remove skins, just slice and grill, stir-fry, boil lightly, or use raw in salads. Try serving with chopped mint and balsamic vinegar.
