HOW TO GROW - Grow at a temperature of about 15°C (60°F). A garage, shed or under a greenhouse bench are suitable sites. Well-rotted horse manure is the ideal growing medium. A stack approximately 50cm (20") x 50cm (20") x 50cm (20") should be used. Make up into beds 20-25cm (8-10") deep. Scatter spawn evenly over the surface and mix to a depth of 5-8cm (2-3"). Cover with damp newspaper. Thin white threads (Mycelia) will begin forming. Remove newspaper after 10-14 days. Cover the compost with a layer of 3cm (1¼") of clean, moist garden soil. Keep the ‘casing’ moist. Water with a mist sprayer, to keep temperatures down.
HARVESTING - Mushrooms grow in flushes. Gently twist the cap and pull to avoid damage to developing mushrooms. Sowing ➞ Cropping – 10-12 weeks.
Can be grown in a garage, shed or under a greenhouse bench. HEALTHY EATING - For best taste, harvest when the caps have opened exposing the pink 'gills'.
