Garlic Bulbs - Lovers Autumn Planting Collection

2 Review(s) with an average rating of:

Now an essential part of so many kitchen gardens, with excellent health benefits (lowering blood pressure, fat and cholesterol levels and combating infections). And they couldn't be easier to grow - simply plant the garlic cloves in autumn, and they'll be ready to lift and dry next July! Garlic Lovers' Collection contains 8 bulbs (2 bulbs of Edenrose, Germidour, Messidrome and Red Duke):

Edenrose (French grown - hardneck)- A superb high yielding hardneck variety. Bulbs contain a large number of easy to peel, rose skinned cloves with a strong flavour. 1 x 2 bulb pack (12-15 cloves per bulb).

Germidour (French grown - softneck) - Violet-streaked skin with white cloves and a mild flavour, easily stored and split for cooking. Plant October-January. Plant October-January. 1 x 2 bulb pack (1-11 cloves per bulb).

Messidrome (French grown - softneck) - White with excellent flavour for all culinary uses. Plant October-January. 1 x 2 bulb packs (10-11 cloves per bulb).

Red Duke (Hardneck) - The last stronghold of rare exotic hardnecks with fierce and spicy flavours is in Eastern Europe. Hotter and stronger than any of the commonly planted garlic in the UK, these bulbs still have the attributes of their mother bulbs which came from Central Asia, perhaps 800 years ago with the Mongol invasions. Bright white skins with plump purple cloves. 1 x 2 bulb pack (8-10 cloves per bulb).

Rating:
I ended up getting waay more than two of each variety. I thought maybe this was to make up for any possible bad bulbs, but even with the one bad bulb I got it was amazing value for money. The bulbs were nice and healthy--not dried out. Managed to get them in today (middle of November). Hopefully will look as promising in the spring/summer!
