Gijnlim - This outstanding asparagus has been a consistent top performer in recent trials, out-yielding others by up to 25%. It's early too, giving the first succulent tasty spears in mid to late April and continuing to crop heavily until mid June. It is an 'all male' hybrid, forming no seeds which means all its energies go into spear production and troublesome seedlings in the bed are avoided.
Stewarts Purple - This is the newest purple asparagus and is signficantly sweeter than even the sweetest green varieties. The spears have less fibre and are particularly tender. They make a very attractive addition to salads and retain their attractive colour when steamed, particularly in the early part of the season. Expect the first spears to appear in late April.
We supply healthy one year old crowns, and you could be picking tasty asparagus tips in as little as a year, and for up to 15 years!
