Gooseberry Lady Sun
The first thornless yellow gooseberry!
Bred by Lubera, Lady Sun is virtually thornless on its fruit-bearing branches - so you won't get hurt when you pick the delicious gooseberries! It has a strong upright habit, and shows good resistance to American powdery mildew, producing good crops of sweet-tasting, juicy berries with a delightful aroma and thin skins. Plants will grow well in most soils, either in the garden or in a container on the patio. Crops from early July. Supplied in a 13cm pot.
Lubera is a Swiss nursery owned by Markus Kobeit and his wife Magda. The couple have developed the company into what it is today, but it is a business that is definitely in Markus' blood - his great grandfather placed his first advertisement for trees in a newspaper in 1889, and three generations have been involved in it since!
