Due to the continued growth of this industry leading business, we now have the exciting opportunity to recruit an additional member of staff to our Product Buying team.
As Suttons continues to develop and diversify the breadth and depth of the product continues to grow. The successful candidate will be part of a busy team that is not only sourcing live plants and seeds but increasingly needing to work with 'new' none horticultural product groups that are more life style led.
This position requires a genuine desire to engage with an evolving product category that will continue to be developed with the long-term objective of it becoming a sub brand of our already successful Dobies and / or Suttons brands.
Suttons consumer products is a Multi Channel Retailer . You will therefore need to have an innovative approach to new lines, fit for catalogue/web and call centre sales in a structured and timely way.
Sourcing: Profitable innovative products that fit with current ranges from new and existing suppliers.
Quality: Consistent monitoring of product standards and returns will be essential.
Administration/communication: The role requires excellent control and monitoring of the category ensuring the correct stock levels are maintained to support the achieved sales through the various sales channels. Liaising with the sales and marketing, design and photography departments.
Financial: The category will need to be managed in a way that achieves the required profit margin.
Initially the successful candidate will need to learn , understand and “get to grips” with our “Goodlife” category that is at a very early stage…. BUT it is expected that these new areas of product will be significantly increased in the near future.
Salary circa £24 - £28,000 dependant on experience and knowledge
