Sowing Time March to July, and in September
Tasty and colourful A red 'Little Gem' lettuce boasting deep maroon-red outer leaves and crisp, yellow interiors. Good resistant to Bremia, a fungal disease that is common in lettuces. Cos variety. Culture: Sow little and often to ensure a continuous supply. Grow in a rich soil and water well in dry periods. Sow outdoors at fortnightly intervals from March to July, and in September sow varieties which stand through winter to head the following spring. (10-14 weeks maturity.)
