Sow thinly into finely raked, warm, moist soil at a depth of 13mm (½") in rows about 30cm (12") apart. Germination time 7-14 days. Thin seedlings to 5-10cm (2-4") between plants. Water in dry weather. Also successful as an over-wintering crop. Allow seedlings to stand over winter, thinning early spring to 5-10cm (2-4") between plants. Afford some cloche protection if weather is severe. Sowing ➞ Cropping: 8-24 weeks.

HEALTH BENEFITS: High in vitamins A and C, and antioxidants. CULINARY TIPS: Lightly steam or eat raw.
