Tomato Seeds - F1 Crimson Crush

3 Review(s) with an average rating of:
5.0

As well as its ability to shrug off even the worst blight, Crimson Crush will provide great yields of exceptionally fine tasting, large, round tomatoes (each weighing up to 200g). Bred for outdoor growing, it's the tomato that everyone should be planting this year. (Cordon variety - one stem grown by pinching off side-shoots as they appear, needs staking and tying in.)

  • This is not just a blight resistant tomato it is a blight beating tomato. Never be disappointed with your tomato crop when blight strikes again
  • Ideal for the home or the allotment

Please note: With regards to the nature of the blight resistance, plants can still show infection (up to 10-15%) of leaves, stems etc. without effecting fruit quality or yield. The plants having the resistance to be able to grow away from the attack.

TOM EXPLAINS THE TECHNICAL STUFF YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW…
This variety is unique in that it has two resistance genes to Phytopthera infestans (Late Blight), giving it full resistance to all strains of blight currently found in the UK. So if blight spores come into contact wth the plant the infection will not spread throughout the plant.

It's been bred using natural methods and has been tested throughout the breeding process using Marker Assisted Selection (MAS).

Bought these last year and was very impressed with them, no diseases to report. I was picking tomatoes a lot later than was expected (picked the last one on Christmas day!!!) not bad for outdoor grown tomatoes. I will be buying again this year 10/10

We got 3 plug plants free, just had to pay postage & packing, to try this new variety. They have been excellent!! We have grown them outdoors and, given that this has not been a good year for tomatoes, they have been excellent! They ripen early. The fruits are big and plentiful, with an excellent flavour. We have found them to be a really good all-rounder, great for salads and brilliant for making sauces, as they have meaty flesh and fewer seeds than some varieties, which make them perfect for cooking. We will only be growing Crimson Crush next year, we were so impressed!

Wow. I've grown " blight resistant" tomatoes before which only lasted maybe two weeks at best after infection. These had patches of blight on the stems for the best part of two months before the fruit began to become affected in the middle of September as the plants slowed and started to die back. Very impressed.
