Sow thinly into warm, moist soil prepared by digging and raking at a depth of 50mm (2") in flat drills 15cm (6") wide in two rows with seed approximately 5cm (2") apart. Allow 60cm (24") between further rows. Germination 7-10 days. Support plants with twiggy sticks or pea netting. Grows best in a sunny position in well cultivated soil containing plenty of well rotted manure or compost. Water well during dry weather to aid flower setting and pea formation. Sowing ➞ Cropping: 10 weeks.

HEALTH BENEFITS: Good source of vitamin A, C, folate, B1, iron and phosphorus. CULINARY TIPS: Steam gently to retain nutrient values.
