What are Microgreens?

Microgreens are young seedlings with only their first couple of leaves grown. Because they are harvested so young, the flavours are much more concentrated and intense. They can be grown all-year-round. They take such small amount of space, they are like a mini allotment at home!

Did You Know

You can get microgreens like watercress or rocket but also cabbages, chard or peas, each one with their own unique and intense flavours, distinctive textures, eye-catching colours and nutrients!

Recipe Idea for Twinkle tendrils

Ingredients:

  • Large raw prawns
  • frozen peas
  • linguini
  • olive oil
  • a handful of twinkle tendril leaves
  • 1/2 a lemon
  • salt and pepper
  • 1-2 shallots
  • dash of cream
  • 1 clove of garlic

Method:

Boil a large pan of water and cook the linguini until al dente.

While the water is boiling, gently fry off the shallots and garlic in the olive oil for a few minutes before adding the prawns and peas.

Once the prawns are cooked through,squeeze in the lemon juice then add the cream and seasoning and cook for a further few minutes.

Drain the pasta and mix the two together. serve in a pasta bowl and top with a handful of Twinkle Tendrils .
