How to grow the biggest, fattest pumpkins from your seeds:

For the largest pumpkins sow your seeds in April. Plant them into a quality compost using 7.5cm (3") pots (Fun to Grow pots are ideal). Push one seed in to around 2.5cm (1") for each pot and cover with compost. Water pots, cover with paper and place in a warm, dark place. When leaves appear, remove paper and place pots in a warm, light place to grow on.You can also sow seeds direct in the garden from April-June – ask an adult to help make a mini-greenhouse for each plant by cutting a plastic bottle in half. It will help your plants in the early stages.

Caring for your Patty Pumpkin plants:

For really large pumpkins, choose a sunny, warm place and dig in plenty of garden or bagged compost and perhaps some fertiliser. Plant your pumpkins at a spacing of 90cm (3') apart and water in. Keep the plants watered and feed plants every two weeks with liquid tomato fertiliser.
