Sow seed thinly on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Either gently press the seed into the compost or cover seed with a light vermiculite. Keep at a temperature of between 5-10°C (41-50°F). Do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost slightly dry. Germination can be slow and erratic (approx. 14-20 days). Acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after any risk of frost has passed. Sowing ➞ Cropping: 8-10 weeks.
