For winter use sow in June-August. Very large roots (approximately 450gm [1 lb] each) which may remain in situ to be lifted as required. In very severe weather cover with straw or bracken. Alternatively lift and store roots in dry sand, soil, or peat.

CULINARY TIPS: Excellent sliced or shredded adding colour to winter salads. HEALTH TIPS: High in vitamin C and potassium, and contains sulphur compounds.
