Sow in spring or autumn when the temperature is around 5ºC (41ºF). Sow in small pots using light compost, cover with about 3mm (¼") sieved compost and keep moist, germination is slow and irregular. Plant out in late winter or early spring, plant about 3cm (1¼") below surface. This perennial will bear hops in its second year. Train up a tall pole or along a wire. Water frequently as it is a thirsty plant.
