Sow in a propagator on a windowsill or thinly in pots or trays in a greenhouse at approximately 10-15°C (50-60°F) using a good quality compost from February-April. Cover seeds with 6mm (¼") sieved compost Germination 14-21 days. Grow on and mature in a greenhouse or plant out when frost risk has passed 20cm (8") apart. Can also be sown thinly direct outside from May-July at a depth of about 6mm (¼"). Grows best in well drained soil in a sunny position.
Experiment with nutritious, health-giving herbs in your kitchen, adding interesting tastes and flavours to hot and cold dishes. Try them in herb vinegars, breads and tisanes, and dry them for use in winter. To dry - gather in sunshine when flowers are just opening. Bunch, and hang upside-down in an airy place or spread out in a very cool oven. When dry, rub coarsely and store in airtight containers.
