Ligustrum vulgare Potted Plants

Ligustrum vulgare - 10 x 2 Litre Pots

Wild Privet differs from the Common Privet in that its leaves are longer and slimmer, it's creamy white flowers that show in summer, are very attractive to insects and it produces bunches of shiny black fruits in autumn much loved by thrushes. Leave the berries for the birds as they can be harmful if eaten. It  is likely to lose most of its leaves in very cold winters but most years it keeps a fair proportion of green leaves, providing mixed native hedges with some winter wildlife cover. It is good at the coast, good in all but the wettest and driest soils, good in shade (as long as the soil is not dry) and good in exposed windy positions. Flowers late May-mid November producing white flowers. Grows 20-40cm per year. Supplied in 2 litre pots.
