Adrian Bloom says . . . I have used this great Rudbeckia in almost every garden I have created. Amazingly it was raised as long ago as 1936 in Germany, ‘Goldsturm’ (translated literally as storm of gold) is still in my opinion in the top 25 of all perennials. A north American native, this ‘Black Eyed Susan’ is very hardy, adaptable and forms mats of glossy green leaves, followed by black coned, golden petalled flowers for weeks in late summer. Best in sun where not too dry. Associates well with blue Agapanthus or Geranium Rozanne and Sedum Purple Emperor.
