Russian Campion Seed
Code: 141177
Fiery flowers
A must for the red border; its fiery orange-scarlet flowers contrast vividly with deep bronze foliage in mid-summer. Some call it the Jerusalem Cross as it was thought to have travelled here from Jerusalem during the time of the Crusades, even though its native home is Russia.
Culture: Sow the seeds into a tray of moist, firm, quality compost, pressing them gently into the surface. Place in a polythene bag to conserve moisture. Place in a warm, light place (but not in direct sunlight) at around 15-20°C (60-68°F) until germination occurs. At the first sign of germination (21-25 days), remove the bag and maintain a temperature of 15°C (60°F). Grow on in good light keeping the compost moist. Transplant the seedlings, when large enough to handle, into 9cm (3½") pots of compost and grow on watering as required. Choose a sunny site and plant out in Sept-Oct, spacing the plants 20-25cm (8-10") apart.
Average Growing Height: 21-30CM
