Has lots of history Beautiful, fragrant, perennial and steeped in history - what more could you want. Used in mummification by the ancient Egyptians, in Medieval times to scent stored clean laundry and since Roman times as a strewing herb and bathwater additive. Plus the flowers can be used in cakes! Culture: Sow during January-March on a windowsill in a propagator or in a heated greenhouse at 15°C (60°F) for flowering in the first year. Alternatively sow in a well raked seedbed outdoors April-June 3mm (1.8") deep and cover lightly (Germination 20-90 days). Transplant to a site in full sun or partial shade in autumn to begin flowering the following year spacing the plants 41cm (16") apart. Average Growing Height: 51-60CM
