Soak seed in warm water prior to sowing. Sow May/June in pots in a greenhouse, coldframe or indoors. Maintain 25°C (77°F) for 4-5 weeks then lower to 10°C (50°F). Germination can be slow and erratic, 40-60 days. Transplant to a site in full sun or partial shade in autumn to begin flowering the following year. When established, plant out 40cm (16") apart in a sunny position. Protect the plants from frost during winter. May also be sown direct outside in autumn.

Ideal for beds and borders. Drought resistant. Prefers full sun or partial shade.

Rating:
Soaked seeds for 24 hours then planted seeds in a seed tray and kept lightly moist on a windowsill in a room which had temp at around 20 degrees for 3 weeks. Then put in the bottom of a fridge for 3 weeks, then back on the windowsil. Out of 15 seeds that I planted, 8 grew within 5 days of being back out by the window, and a further 3 within the next 2 weeks. I sowed these in October, and grew on in 3" pots inside while they were little, then moved to a frost free greenhouse mid winter and potted up as and when needed. By mid April there were 4 plants quite large and already showing flower buds, the rest are healthy and I fully expect the majority of them to flower this year despite the late start. Alstroemeria can be really difficult to get going, but a germination of 11 out of 15 is the best rate I've ever had with them and expect they are a higher rate of viable seeds than most sellers. I fully recommend these seeds.
