Soak the seed for at least 24 hours prior to sowing, you should see a small white bulge emerge from the seeds in this time, some may not produce this, but the ones that product this are ready to sow. Fill a pot (approximately 13cm deep) with vermiculite, watering to ensure it is moist before sowing seed. Place one coffe bean, flat side down in the centre of each pot approx 2.5cm (1") deep then gently cover with vermiculite. Cover each pot with clear plastic to keep moisture in. Keep moist throughout germination period, misting daily is a good way to keep a good moisture level. Ensure to put the plastic back over the pot after each misting. Keep temperature at 24-27ºC (75-80ºF). Germination takes approximately 60 days but will vary. Pot on into a bigger pot when the roots begin to come through the base of and fill up the pot inside comfortably. Note: Coffee plants can take up to 9 months before it really begins to establish, they are slow growing but well worth the wait.

Ideal for greenhouse, conservatory or home.
