Sow the seed thinly direct into finely raked, moist, warm, weed-free soil where the plants are to flower, 6mm (¼") deep. Thin the resulting seedlings by degrees to a final spacing of 15cm (6") apart, removing any competing weeds as the plants grow. Allow your flowers to run to seed to feed the birds.
