Azalea Encore Plant - Debutante

Another beautiful addition to this already popular series of Azalea is 'Debutante' which has lovely light green foliage and ruffled, 5cm (2") diameter, stunningly elegant pink blooms. Debutante will bloom in the spring, summer and autumn! This is another fantastic variety of Azalea Encore which would look fantastic in any pot, bed or border! Flowers March-April, late June-early July & September. Supplied in a 9cm pot.

Finally there is more to an azalea than just a couple of weeks of incredible blooms and only evergreen foliage for the rest of the year . . . now there are re-blooming azaleas that provide weeks of colour throughout the year.  Azalea Encore® is unique because after the first flush of spring flowers the shrubs produce new shoots and new flower buds. This new growth ensures you get another flush of flowers during the summer and again in the autumn. Once winter frosts set in the blooming will stop but the evergreen foliage will remain attractive throughout the winter. Use Encore® in mixed perennial borders to create large masses of colour, or in large containers as accent specimens (for acidic garden soils or container growing in ericaceous compost).

It's easy to achieve great results . . . Plant your azaleas in a spot where they will receive at least 4-6 hours of sunlight. Dig a planting hole twice as wide as it is deep and be sure to mix in plenty of organic material such as moss peat or compost. Be sure to provide plenty of water during the first year while your azaleas are establishing themselves (and ideally mulch them to help conserve water); when well-established they'll only need watering during periods of drought, like most landscape shrubs. There's no real need for pruning, other than to help maintain a pleasing shape, and this is best done immediately after the first, spring flush of blooms

Ideal for beds and borders, patio pots and containers. Prefers full sun or partial shade.

For best results feed with an ericaceous feed throughout the spring and early autumn.
